Prayer for Healing
Blessed Saint Thérèse, I am facing a difficult road to recovery, but I realize my pain is small compared to all you endured in your brief life. Help me to remember that—with you and the Lord by my side—I need never suffer alone. I pray that the Lord's grace and love help bring me back to health. Amen.
Prayer for Special Favor
Dearest Thérèse of the Child Jesus, I do my best to want little and to appreciate life's many blessings. But in my time of need, I turn to you—please carry my needs before the Lord. (State petition.) I seek this special favor so I may better rejoice in God's love and share His Divine Message with all. Amen.
Prayer for Self-Acceptance
Blessed Saint Thérèse, you realized that "the last shall be first." Please share with me your remarkable courage so I may accept my limitations and remain small. As you took comfort in your imperfections, let me offer mine to God as a sign of my humility. Please help me to follow your "Little Way." Amen.
Prayer for Power to Forgive
Dearest Little Flower, we are often asked to forgive those who may have mistreated us or treated us unkindly. And though I have you as a shining example of Christian forgiveness, I sometimes have trouble overcoming my feelings of selfishness and meanness. Please ask God to grant me the power to forgive and to follow your example of kindness more closely. Amen.
Novena Prayer to Saint Thérèse
(To be said every day for nine days or every hour for nine hours.)
O Saint Thérèse, to you all life was a miracle! I pray to you, Powerful Intercessor, to lighten my burdens by asking the Lord for miraculous intervention. You have promised to let a "shower of roses fall from Heaven." Please pray with me for His love to wash over me and heal me—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. When I am alone, reach into my heart with peace and comfort, and when I am afraid, bring me new hope and strength in the Lord. Miraculous Invocation to St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus
O Glorious St. Thérèse, whom Almighty God has raised up to aid and inspire the human family, I implore your Miraculous Intercession. You are so powerful in obtaining every need of body and spirit from the Heart of God. Holy Mother Church proclaims you "Prodigy of Miracles... the Greatest Saint of Modern Times." Now I fervently beseech you to answer my petition (mention here) and to carry out your promises of spending Heaven doing good upon earth... of letting fall from Heaven a Shower of Roses. Little Flower, give me your childlike faith, to see the Face of God in the people and experiences of my life, and to love God with full confidence. St. Thérèse, my Carmelite Sister, I will fulfill your plea "to be made known everywhere" and I will continue to lead others to Jesus through you. Amen. Print this invocation.
